Big Ben

This magnificent clock sits atop the United Kingdom Houses of Power or Parliament seen here. Big Ben is one of London's best known landmarks, and looks most spectacular at night when the clock faces are illuminated (See other images in our catalog). A light shines above the clock face when parliament is in session. The four dials of the clock are 23 feet square, the minute hand is 14 feet long and the figures are each 2 feet high. The name Big Ben actually refers to the thirteen ton bell hung inside the tower.
