1655 - Ponte Vecchio Morning Close

Ponte Vecchio Morning Close

The Arno River in central Italy flows generally westward for about 240 km (about 150 mi), from its source on Mount Falterona to the Ligurian Sea. Here, at sunset, it passes through Florence and under the famous Ponte Vecchio. Built in 1345, the current occupants are mostly goldsmith and jewelry shops. Viewed from high above the Arno River at the Piazzale Michelangelo and illuminated by the morning sun, the bridge and it's magnificent color reflection stand out as a symbol of Florence Italy.
