While spending a week in Grand Cayman to dive and complete work on his first underwater photography book, Joel was amazed by the powerful sunsets. This image of the sun setting behind the silhouetted palm tree captures the strength and beauty of this awesome sight.
Hawaii, Tahiti, or the Carribbean? Actually, this magnificent sunset was captured behind the Mills Masion in Staatsburg, New York. The trees in the foreground are hiding the view over the Hudson River, approximately 92 miles North of Manhattan. Images 1268 and 1270 are from the same location.
While spending a week in Grand Cayman to dive and complete work on his first underwater photography book, Joel was awakened one morning by brilliant moonlight. So, at 5:00 A.M. he grabbed his camera equipment and went outside to capture these magnificent images. This image is slightly brighter than Image #1028 and was taken later. Notice the sunrise lighting the clouds and the reflection of the moon on the water.

This lighthouse, visible for eighteen miles and with one million candlepower stands at the Jupiter Inlet, formed at the point where the Loxahatchee River flows into the Atlantic Ocean and is the only natural inlet on the East Coast of Florida.
The Tracy Arm Fjord twists and turns for over 30 miles, culminating in a spectacular view of the twin tidewater Sawyer Glaciers. These waterfalls are just one of the spectacular sights in Tracy Arm.
The Pigeon Point Lighthouse is perched on a cliff on the central California coast, 50 miles south of San Francisco. Standing nearly 116 feet tall it is one of the tallest lighthouses in America and has been guiding mariners since 1872. The original fresnel lens stands 16 feet tall, is 6 feet in diameter, and weighs 8,000 pounds. Although the original Fresnel lens is no longer in use, the lighthouse is still an active U.S. Coast Guard aid to navigation.

In Hawaii to photograph the winter visit of the native Alaskan Humpback Whales, the artist simply could not resist the magnificent beauty at the end of every day. Visible through the slight haze, the island of Lanai is visible in the distance.
