Covered Bridges dot the countryside in most New England area states including New York State. Some now carry car traffic although most have been converted to historic sites for pedestrian traffic only. Once constructed in this covered fashion to keep horses from spooking when crossing high above rushing water, they have become a symbol of our horse drawn carriage heritage. Can you hear the horses?

The southern end of Lake George, New York is home to several tour boats thrilling passengers with scenes and historical recounts of this resort town and lake. As the sun sets on the lake, the boats capture the last powerful illuminating rays before they become enshrouded in darkness.
There is nothing quite as calming as boats moored in the still waters of the harbor. Sit back with your favorite morning beverage and enjoy the magnificent solitude to lower your blood pressure, calm your nerves, and start your day relaxed.
Sitting at the 59th Street end of the park, The Pond is one of the most visited areas of the park. Ducks, Swans, Geese, and other birds live around the pond yea-round.
Sailing is fun but not for those who like to sit back and relax while boat engines do all the work. Anyone who has crewed on a sailboat knows that it can be literally back breaking. This peaceful and calming photograph belies the real work of sailing and perhaps speaks to us about the tired sailors gone home to rest after a day of catching the wind.
These tracks are part of the Metro North Railroad System along the East side of the Hudson River. Captured here is a section of track in Columbia County New York alongside Route 9J.
These tracks are part of the Metro North Railroad System along the East side of the Hudson River. This view of the tracks seems to have been taken while riding on the front of the train when in actuality the artist was firmly on the ground.
Railroad bridges like the one pictured here dot the countryside and attest to our reliance on rail transport of goods. This view through the bridge gives the impression that the bridge and tracks continue on indefinitely.
